When we purchased our home, our yard consisted of a small lawn area, playset, and mulched parking space for two cars. We removed several shade trees to create a larger lawn area and installed a grass path between two large shrub beds to accommodate my passion for plants and lots of them. The soil is now rich with organic matter and earthworms, having absorbed many years of recycled shredded leaves and wood chips from the local tree service.
